Support of a healthy, sustainable Urban Forest in Knoxville which is managed to provide our
citizens with a continuing level of economic, social, environmental and ecological benefits today
and into the future. This includes:
- An inventory of Knoxville's existing Urban Forest, and plans for maintaining or planting new
trees
- Education and increased awareness to assist citizens with compliance, and to understand the
needs and benefits of a healthy, sustainable Urban Forest
- Protection for environmentally sensitive areas such as steep slopes, stream banks, wetlands,
and ridges
- Adequate regulations to ensure that we develop and maintain a healthy, sustainable Urban
Forest in Knoxville
- Adequate enforcement and resources to verify that requirements for tree protection and planting
have been met and are maintained.
